It might be odd but its fact that my office computer won’t boot with the set BIOS configuration.

As I switch on my office PC it will display a message as ”Disk boot error. No boot disk found” I have set the BIOS configuration with the active hard disk boot but it won’t recognize the hard disk on the first start-up, if I press restart button it will detect the hard drive and boot normally. Office PC has Windows XP Service pack 3 installed with latest updates and drivers.

Anyone have any idea what might be the problem?

You can give your genuine solution / suggestions in my post comments section.

Meanwhile I am trying to figure out what acually the cause. If I found the solution, I will be posting the solution for this in comments section.

Recently one of my friends bought a PC with the below said configuration:

Intel Core2Duo 2.2GHz

Intel Classic Motherboard

2 GB RAM

500 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive

When we tried installing Windows XP Professional it was showing BSOD as soon as it loads the setup files and we were not able to install Windows XP neither on SATA HDD nor on IDE. Then tried installing Windows 2003 Server, all things were going well until the screen says installing Device Drivers and got struck and prompted unable to read Windows 2003 installation CD. Tried the same with other copy of Windows 2003 Server installation Disk but resulted with the same above mentioned error.

Later found to be a guess that Windows XP below SP2 or Windows 2003 Server below R2 will not be able to install on the above said now PC configuration because we tried installing the same using Windows XP Professional SP2 and Windows 2003 server R2 and it gone smooth and both installed successfully.

What we came to conclusion is that with the above described problem is without the updated version of Windows with latest Service Packs you can’t able to load Windows on latest PC configurations.

I hope this information will help if you are facing the similar issue.

Now almost all the news, business, blogs, social networking website have RSS feeds and publish summaries of their content in a form that is easy for users to browse.

To subscribe the available RSS feed/s you need to have an RSS Reader and Microsoft Outlook 2007 allows you to subscribe to available RSS Feeds just like that.

A very simple example would be subscribing Tech-KB feed in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Just click on “Subscribe to RSS Feed” link available on this page at the top right navigation bar. This will ask confirmation message whether to launch Outlook Application, click on “Launch Application” and that is it. Congratulation you have subscribed to Tech-KB feed.

Another way to subscribe is copy the “Subscribe to RSS Feed” link by right clicking on “Subscribe to RSS Feed” and click on “Copy Shortcut” in IE 8, “Copy Link Address” in Google Chrome” or “Copy Link Location” in Firefox. Now open “Microsoft Outlook 2007” click on “Tools” > “Accounts Settings” and then click on “RSS Feed” tab then click on “New” and paste the copied link and click on “Add” and you are done. Now whenever you open “Outlook” you will get all the new content available in your Outlook RSS Feeds Folder.

Nothing new right? Yes, I know this is not the latest configuration to be very excited for or to mention it here but still…

With this configuration I desperately wanted to install Windows 7 Release Candidate.

Downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate RC Build 7100 32bit ISO file using previous post link and burned the ISO file on to a DVD.

To be safer I first took the backup of my whole hard drive data and then proceeded with Windows 7 installation.

Initially I thought it to be very complicated to install Windows 7, but to my surprise it is very easy, quick and user friendly; it took me less than half an hour to install Windows 7 Ultimate RC Build 7100.

Let me share this step by step Windows 7 installation guide which I followed:

Boot the computer using Windows 7 DVD

The very first screen asks you about the “Select Language”, “Time and Currency Format” and “Keyboard or Input method”. Choose appropriate and click on “Next” to go to next screen. (Windows calls this part as Information Gathering)

In this screen click on “Install Now”

Check the “Accept the License term” and click on “Next”

Here you need to choose the option whether to “Upgrade” or “Custom Install”. Select “Upgrade if you want to Upgrade Windows else choose “Custom Install”. I have selected “Custom Install” for a clean installation.

Screen prompts for selecting partition to which Windows to be installed, select the partition from the list of partition available and click on “Next” (If you want to format or create the partition/s then click on “Advance Drive Options” this will list you all the drive options.)

Now “Installing Windows” screen appears, starts with expanding files, copies files, configures and installs hardware devices. In progress computer will restart couple of times.

That’s it your Windows 7 installation is done.

Windows 7 installation process is very much user friendlier than ever. I would recommend you install and try Windows 7 as this will be the next widely used operating system.
